Holistic Health PhD

My name is Teresa Burkhart, I have been studying Holistic Health for over 20 years and have many resources and several certifications. I have obtained my Nutrition Certification through David Wolfe/Body Mind Institute;  The Jay Kordich Institute (The Juiceman) Juicing Master Certification, Certified Juice Therapist - CMA Approved (Complimentary Medical Association), Raw Food Certification’s, Holistic Health Studies through various sources and am an Ordained Reverend. I am passionate about Essential Oils, natural beauty products and green & organic living. I am an advocate for medical marijuana and its ability to assist in fighting and in some cases curing Cancer naturally. I am a follower of Dr. T. Collin Campbell (The China Study), Dr. Joel Fuhrman, Green Med Info, The Sacred Plant and The Truth about Cancer, to name a few and promote them regularly as I feel they are great resources.

I am passionate about holistic health and I am currently focused on the benefits of juicing and a whole food plant based lifestyle.

My journey started with the loss of my father in 2001, when they could not tell us for sure why he died other than a rare blood disorder - which now I believe was a form of Cancer.  He was a WWII Veteran and lived most of his adult life in Michigan, worked for AC / General Motors as a maintenance painter in Flint Michigan and also did a lot of custom home painting when Lead Based Paint was used frequently and exposure to asbestos was common.  So his exposure to a lot of chemical culprits was vast.

After losing my mother to pancreatic and liver cancer in 2012 it drove my passion even deeper, learning more and sharing as much as I could to help others.  She was a breast cancer survivor in the late 80's and had done chemo and radiation to overcome that. I now know that there is a high rate of return when people have to go through chemo and/or radiation that cancer will frequently return years later.  I truly believe that was the case for her.  At that time I was not aware of how important diet & lifestyle was before, during and after these treatments to protect yourself.  Her symptoms of the pancreatic cancer were diagnosed as being pre-diabetic, which now I know is a sign of pancreatic cancer.  I knew something was wrong but was not educated enough to understand at that time. I kept telling the doctor something was wrong (if we would have caught it earlier, things may be different today). After her diagnosis in late July 2012, they gave her 3 to 6 months to live, (she made it almost 2 months) she chose to try chemo and radiation once again. While I think had the doctors not given her a time frame, she may have been a little more aggressive in her fight. She tried about a month of the chemo and she just spiraled down, she was so weak she just could not take it any more and they could not continue the treatments.  She was fortunate in the fact we were able to have her home with us and with the help from hospice her last days were not as painful as some experience. She passed peacefully in her room September 9th 2012.

Recently I have started to investigate and learn more about different types of skin cancers after my son was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Basal Cell Carcinoma (at the time of diagnosis he was only 33) 2017 . After removing the lower half of his ear down to his scalp and having it reconstructed - only to have another form appear, Invasive Squamous Cell Carcinoma. They were nearly done with the reconstruction and had to remove that and another section, now we are not sure if the earlobe can be recreated . It is very frustrating as no one can seem to give us a reason or cause for the cancer, so working on prevention is difficult. I am thankful that he is living in a state which allows the use of medical marijuana, as the pain he went through during the multiple surgeries was severe and being able to use that instead of prescription drugs helped him tremendously.  He did choose to go through 7 weeks of radiation while juicing and eating healthy, we did some cleansing after and he has since turned to a more holistic approach of living, is 80% plant based and has been alcohol free since 2017.   He is really focused on working out and keeping his body in the best health possible.

So my passion for fighting this disease runs deep and strong and I do see the light at the end of the tunnel as there are many advocates fighting for natural cures and making them available in the US - and I believe soon we will win the fight!!!

My husband suffered with high blood pressure and high cholesterol for several years, we made some dietary changes and were able to drop his pressure and cholesterol down to healthy levels along with dropping some unwanted pounds - and maintaining it.  No prescriptions!!

Me personally, while I have been fortunate in my health so far - I had struggled with acid re-flux for several years.  At some points it was very disabling, it would put me to my knees.  The pain was so bad I felt I was having a very severe heart attack.  I was able to cure myself through dietary changes, green smoothies and juices and a lot of Aloe Vera!  The doctors wanted to put me on the "purple pill" and after researching the prescriptions, I chose to find a more natural route.  Not that this can heal everyone, but for me going plant based and the other changes worked for me.

My husband and I are both whole food plant based, we juice regularly, juice fast 4 times a year for 5-7 days,  practice intermittent fasting off and on regularly and are pretty active.

Food is medicine and our bodies are so amazing and in many cases and with a little help from us can heal itself.
